We are delighted to share news of a partnership with the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre to benefit both parties and the aim of returning AVRO Lancaster NX611 to the skies.

During May and June our two major Lancaster sections, the Rear Fuselage of Lancaster KB976 and a bomb bay door, were delivered to East Kirkby to advance the restoration of NX611 to flight.

This arrangement will see KB976’s rear fuselage restored to a taxi-able condition before being swapped with NX611‘a rear fuselage while it is then restored to airworthy condition, before the fuselage sections are swapped once again and KB976’s fuselage will return to Doncaster. Further information on the project can be seen on the LAHC Website: https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/news/lancaster-nx611-return-to-flight/fuselage-of-lancaster-kb976.htm

The bomb bay door will be assessed by the engineering team at East Kirkby for suitability for either restoration for taxiing condition or use to produce a jig template to restore NX611’s bomb doors when the time comes.
