We’re pleased to share news of our newest arrival to the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum, and it’s a big piece of kit!

With huge thanks to DHL UK and their extremely generous donation, we are pleased to be able to display a Rolls-Royce RB211. Removed as ‘Timex’ from DHL’s Boeing 757 G-BMRI in October 2022, this engine will now help us to show the development of aircraft engines from the very early days of small piston engines, right up to modern high efficiency turbofans.

We would also like to thank Graham Vale from the East Midlands Aeropark for initially contacting the museum regarding the engine, Chris Wright (Baildon) Ltd for their excellent haulage as usual, and DHL for their kindness in donating the engine to the museum.

If any other museums are interested in obtaining an engine for their collection, please make contact with Graham Vale.
